The City of Dania Beach was awarded an Urban and Community Forestry Grant as part of the federal government’s matching grant program in 2011. The City Commission previously approved matching funds for the grant and work has begun to create an electronic management tool for tracking tree removal and replacement activity in the city. |

Description of Action |

Originally, staff had identified available matching funds in the Building Department Professional Services and in the Tree Preservation Fund. During the 2011-12 budget preparation, professional service funds earmarked for landscape consulting services was moved from the Building Division Professional Services account to the Community Development Administrative Professional Services account. This change was made because landscape permit revenues are captured in the General Fund and not the Building Division Fund. As such, an amendment to the resolution identifying the correct budget source of the matching funds is necessary. No additional costs are being incurred by the City as a result of this proposed action. |
